Prompt Adoption!

Hello!!
So this took us way too long, and we're so sorry for that; but here it is finally! We're glad our first round was so successful, and we ended up with quite a lot of prompts in the end, so we decided to open a prompt adoption!

This form is for those that either dropped out and would like to hold onto the prompts they dropped, for those unable to participate in our last round, or for those that would have liked to write a second prompt from the archive, but just didn't have enough time during the round to complete it! This is for all of you!!

As a reminder, if you choose to adopt a prompt, there is no obligation to finish it by a deadline. We just ask that if you're comfortable with it, when you finish the prompt, you let the mods know so that we can tell all of our followers where it will be so that they can read what you've written (and so potentially the prompter can check it out as well!)

When we do have a second round, we will be recycling round one's prompts. If you have not yet finished your adopted prompt by then, we will reach out to you and ask if you're still writing it, or if you would like to give someone else the chance to claim it for the next round (please be courteous, and do not hold onto prompts you have no intention of finishing)

The Grand Reveal

We've finally come to the end of the party! It's time to clean up, say our goodbyes, and wish each other well for the next time. We do hope that everyone enjoyed themselves (both readers and writers) because the mods certainly did. We have a few things to say before we wrap up this first round, though.

Hi everyone! Oh my God, it's actually over and I am so so sad. When I first created this twitter, my initial idea was to make it in to some form of prompt twitter for Baekhyun pairings, the name was random (Although I hoped it would spike the idea of Baekhyun being more than just your average heteronormative self insert, as many in this fandom like to write him as. Anyways I digress...) Baekbit was going towards the end when I made it and I mentioned it to Ali because the idea of more Baekhyun fics was extremely appealing; me being very Baekhyun biased and all. Then a thought hit me, why don't I make it a fest? The problem here was that it was during the great "Why is there so many fic fests around" mess and people had it up to here with fests. But I'm stubborn so I didn't really... Care.. Changed the layout around a bit, gave the password to A, made a poll to see when you all wanted the fest to start and said 'Top!Baek is here yall!' - A few problem showed up along the way, especially with the issue of misgendering of Baekhyun (WHICH IS VERY MUCH STILL AN ISSUE) and the ongoing top/bottom discussion, this is especially surrounding chanbaek. I have several rants about this on twitter so I'm not gonna go in to detail. What I'm going to say though, is that I simply made this fest because I have seen, so many times that people write Baekhyun more as an equal partner when he is top. I just wanted more equalness. In some of the fics submitted to this round, he switched with his partners and that was totally okay. Some of them didn't even involve sex. I just want Baekhyun written as an equal to his partner(s), that's all I wanted and that's exactly what I got. Will I read fics in the future where Baekhyun bottoms? Of course I will! I just wanted to make a point and I managed to with quite the big exclamation mark! Also for the record we're not tagging either of this fics 'top!baekhyun' bc that's ridiculous, and this fandom needs a little wakeup call hehe. I want to thank our wonderful writers for giving us so many amazing fics, you should've seen me yell to A about some of these fics. I was ready to post some of them back before posting even started because I was THAT excited. You truly came through and wrote some amazing stories. They were all so extremely well written and I'm so glad you wanted to write for our fest and make it this successfull! I want to thank all the betas for helping our lovely writers out, thank you so much you're really the best help. I want to thank all you readers that kept commenting and giving kudos to our lovely writers, they deserve so much positive feedback and I can't wait to read more comments once everyone know who wrote their favorite fics from this round. Last but not least, thank you so much to my fellow mod A! Not only do you mod like 3598345 other fic fests, but you stood by and organized literally everything behind the scenes here; from reminder emails, to being beta for some of the writers, to making the archive. You're truly an amazing mod and I'm so happy you wanted to mod yet another fic fest with me, because you truly made this fic go smoothly. You also wrote my prompt and submitted it as this wonderful story with my two favorite pairings mashed in to one and I'm just honestly so grateful you made my prompt this beautiful. Summary: So the world they live in has this selection thing, where it's considered a huge honor to even be nominated. And if you get selected you basically get reviewed by a panel of super rich and famous people and who ever on the panel likes that person and buzzes in first, 'wins' that person and they basically get married. Baekhyun is on the panel and Chanyeol is one of the nominees.

Baekhyun: a famous idol who just got back to Korea from a world tour and goes to a bar with his friends who are also on this turn's panel where he sees Chanyeol sing one of his song and his interest gets piqued (27)

Chanyeol: a regular college student (psychology major) who gets good grades and who's deeply in love with Baekhyun's music, and has a bit more of a crush on him than he should possibly have on someone he doesn't know. Enjoys frequenting a bar near his school with his friends after the semesters end and sings every time he goes, kind of famous there for singing and playing the guitar.(20)

Author's Note: WOW okay. Uh. This turned out waaaay longer than i had intended and hoped. It was quite an adventure, and I think I learned some things from it.

There was a lot I wasn't able to include due to time- like a domestic scene with them visiting Jongin's home during christmastime and Jongin's sisters LOVING baekhyun (who wouldn't lmao.) And a scene with Baekhyun growing rly fond of Ksoo and hanging all over him. And more interaction between Kaibaek & Chanyeol and Chen. Maybe i'll include an excerpt later on? Who knows.

I think it might seem a bit... Messy? It didn't turn out how I wanted it to, but I managed to include the most important elements in the end, and kinda develop the relationship. That's what is important. I think it has a sort of slice of life feel, like 'a day in the life of kim jongin' sort of feel, with Kai and Baekhyuns different interactions over time.

Author's Note: This fic is an indulgence. I always wanted to write a friends to lovers fic that went a bit more in depth, for I find this premise quite a delicate matter, especially if it’s a same-sex friendship.

I also wanted to write about a strong, young love, kinda foolish and kinda consuming, like a first love’s ought to be, and the utter selflessness that comes from falling too deep. Extreme pining and the crushing fear of unrequited feelings. The whole shebang.

It was incredibly easy for me to write such a long fic about someone being in love with BBH. Which must be telling enough, because believe me, I love BBH more than Sehun does here.

Thank you Miss Ali and Miss Dove and Miss Joanie (of course you’re on this list too, silly) for beta-ing, given god knows I’m a little baby in need of a fuckton of assurance.

One thing I want to make clear is that, while Baekhyun has a daddy kink, Chanyeol doesn't really; mostly, he does the scenes like this because that's what Baekhyun is into and he wants to make him happy and doesn't have a problem with it, but Chanyeol isn't a little, not exactly at least. Although he may find the idea hot, he never has a moment in which he's in little space - although he does fall into subspace a few times during this fic. I hope that isn't too confusing for you guys, and that no one finds a problem with it! This turned out to be more like snapshots of their life together rather than an actual story with a plotline but please enjoy!
